New Sweden - Back to the Birthplace - 4/28/2019

Sunday April 28 2019 is the annual "Festival at the Fort" held at Christiana Park Delaware, or what we like to call a ride "back to the birthplace". If there is any interest I'm sure Phil can put together a ride with a lunch stop at Hanks Restaurant. Unfortunately the Gathering of the Norton is also held that same day. Let's see what kind of response we get, we'll do one or the other. Can we do both? I don't think so.

My vote is for Fort Christina. Just added to my calendar. Just let me know when and where we're meeting.

Unfortunately on this weekend (Back to the Birthplace as well as the Meeting of the Nortons) I need to do a pre-ride to make sure all is good with our intended NS450 route. (Road closures, detours, etc) I can certainly send a "Back to the Birthplace" GPS route to anyone that wants it. (It's a good one!)

Usually the following weekend is when I like to do the test ride but on Wednesday the 1st I'm flying to Birmingham to help my daughter pack, move and then drive back from 'Bama. We won't be home till Saturday or Sunday the 4th or 5th so that weekend is out for the pre-ride.

I plan to go to the Norton event unless I need to work that day. I've got it marked on my calendar.

Yearly task to drag the old iron out and head West.
...nowadays I have two good wheels
And I seek refuge in aluminum and steel
It takes me out there for just a little while
And the years fall away with every mile

Well, like Zoomtoob said,"it's almost compulsory". The Norton event is our last and best venue to advertise the NS 450, so, we have to be there. Besides, not much interest in the "back to the birthplace" so it's the "Gathering of the Norton's" for New Sweden that day. Unfortunately I won't be going because Phil and I will be doing the New Sweden 450 dry run. Now, if only the weather will cooperate!

I'd rather go to the Norton thing, especially since Fort Christina is just 5 miles from my house therefore not a particularly exciting ride opportunity for me. :peep
