Motorcycle jack

Anyone have any experience using a motorcycle jack on a 2014 1200 rt. I'm thinking about buying one. Recommendations?

I use and recommend the Harbor Freight model. You can find them on sale a few times a year.

Travis,

Are you asking about just a jack, versus a complete lift?

If you just want a jack, I’ve lifted my RT on the harbor freight (horror fright :D ) motorcycle jack... But to be safe I ran a tie down over bike (from one side to the other) to the jack, and added some other tie downs from the handlebars to my garage opener rails. I removed both tires, etc and had it just sitting on lift for awhile. It works fine, No issues w lifting on the engine pan.

Mines a 2010 (camhead) ... different engine, so YMMV!

Thank you for the response. I'll look into the lift rather than the jack.

Travis the full size lift is a bit of a bear. It's great if you have the room but as far as the smaller jack versus the full-length lift, I rebuilt an 04 GS using the smaller Jack and I'm now working on a 400-plus pound KLR650 on that same smaller Jack.

It has tie down points and it's highly portable. it'll spin around and is very easy to use and work with and then Store as it folds up and stores on its end. Great piece of tech that is not Overkill but still sturdy and safe when set up right.

Depends also on how far you are going... I need wheels up and access to everything.

One day, if I have the room, I'll probably put one of these small jacks on top of the lift with full swivel casters all four corners.
