Weekend info

Postby Ron_Ces » Tue Feb 20, 2018 10:22 am

Let’s keep our annual trip to the first weekend in May (Friday through Sunday). That way we’ll always know when it is, and it won’t conflict with other bike trips. I may not be able to join you this year, but you can still go.

Kathy Smith worked out some things with Bob that sound terrific. YOU ROCK KATHY! The Finger Lakes! Wine Country! Thanks Kathy (I hope we can be roomies and I think I’ll be back, book the room and I’ll pay for ½ even if I can’t attend).

Day 1 Friday May 4: meet somewhere for breakfast then ride the 4ish hours to the area – stop at either the Curtiss Museum OR Corning Museum of Glass – check in to Seneca Lodge then out for dinner.
Day 2 Saturday May 5: take one of the loops below around the lake. Can consider taking an official tour of wineries, in which case no one will have to drive and all can drink wine. Research of such a tour is needed.
Day 3 Sunday May 6: breakfast then drive home

Since I’ll be out of state we’ll need someone to take the reins and nail down:
1. Breakfast spot to meet
2. Scenic route to the area
3. Coordinate the number of girls who are going (count me as a maybe)
4. Scope out some restaurants, or ask at the Seneca Lodge when you (hopefully WE) arrive
5. Tour of wineries if desired (companies exist which will drive the Girls to a few wineries so no one has to drive)
