Barber Vintage Festival 10/05-07/2018

Postby mogu83 » Sun Jun 10, 2018 11:07 am

Barber Vintage Festival is coming in early October.  Last year it was cut short by a tropical storm that came roaring out of the Gulf, but that couldn't happen again    .
IMHO this is the premier vintage motorcycle event in North America, while Mid-Ohio is declining this one seems to be growing every year.  Last year there were a lot of good deals in the vendors area, every thing from nuts and bolts to complete running bikes.  And then there's the museum, recently rated as the best motorcycle museum in the world.
A major investment in time and finances this one will require some serious planning, but there's ample time left to make arrangements.

Camping on site (my preference) and reasonably priced motels in the area if you book early.

Any interest ????

Tickets are on sale now:https://barberracingevents.com/

And I seek refuge in aluminum and steel
It takes me out there for just a little while

I’m in Birmingham often, my daughter is a senior at U of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. I’ve driven there (too many times) getting her back and forth after breaks, summer, etc. She’s BsN nursing and may live her last semester in Birmingham for full time clinicals.

I’d need a few days of riding to get there... I guess you slab it Harry? That’s a LOOONG 1000 Miles there for me and my neck... pain....

I've slabbed it home in a day a few times, and it's a long day. Going down I usually work it into a multiple day ride, being retired is nice.

Hmmmm .... Been on my list for a long time. Maybe this is the year.

Phil - I would be interested in a longer trip to get there if enough time off is possible.

Yea Harry, I'd be interested. The calendar looks clear for that week. There are a lot of ticket options. What is the best way to go on the tickets?
