More Video from "Almost Alabama"

In the early 70s (1973) I worked at Pat & Ralphs Pizza in Vineland one weekend night after work a bunch of us headed down to Thompson's Beach for a decidedly underage drinking party... One of the guys we worked with parent's owned a place down there.

We had "Obtained" a couple cases of "IRON CITY" beer as well as a bottle of "Lairds Apple Jack" which tasted pretty good until the next morning.

We piled into my 1960 Chevy BelAir (4 door) and drove South from Vineland at about midnight.

We arrived at the "Beach House" and continued drinking.

Some of us decided to stagger down the beach and found horseshoe crabs stuck on the beach as the tide receded so we picked them up and brought them back to the waterline so they could swim off.

When we ran out of the beer that we could carry we walked back to the house and filled our pockets with more beer and took another round of Apple Jack... We then returned to the beach and continued our Horseshoe Crab rescue mission.

This repeated and continued until daybreak when we remembered that we were all on "The Schedule" to work the following night (In about 8 hours) for a 4-12 shift...

We all made it to work but a little slow... It was a Sunday so business was slow as well.
